World Heart Day is celebrated every year on the 29th of September to highlight the importance of preventing heart disease, reducing its prevalence around the world, and enjoying good heart health.
SKMCA celebrated this important occasion by organizing an awareness lecture entitled “Heart Attack” to raise awareness of the topic for SKMCA security personnel. The lecture aimed to raise awareness and educate SKMCA security personnel on heart attack, its causes, signs and symptoms, risk factors and prevention, and most importantly how to recognize any patients or visitors that may display warning signs and how to react if a heart attack occurs onsite or the outdoor setting by calling the Emergency Medical Services on 998 for immediate help.
The awareness lecture covered the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, maintaining and boosting heart health by paying attention to the quality of our food, focusing on the importance of getting adequate sleep and exercise, and periodic health check-ups.
